Alongside the drama production, EPIC have co-produced a bespoke learning pack of exercises and lesson plans with guidance on how the production can be utilised on a one-to-one and a group basis.
Child Criminal Exploitation is an interactive forum theatre performance and workshop using professional actors and specialist facilitators to explore key issues around exploitation and serious youth violence.
This particular performance focuses on the grooming process, warning signs and negative harmful impacts of child criminal exploitation.
The engaging workshop involves interactive conversation and discussion with live performing actors who challenge perceptions of how to stay safe directly through character.
The post-performance discussion involves EPIC practitioners who will facilitate the conversation to explore triggers, warning signs and vulnerabilities, safety planning and signposting to available support services.
The interactive performance workshop is 60 to 90 minutes, which includes the post-performance safeguarding discussion and can be repeated up to three times per day.
This workshop is suitable for Year 7s upward.
Safeguarding staff and support must be available for debriefs / follow up.
